Wayland senior Dylan Pallett is this year’s Allegan County Cross-Country Invitational runner-up.
Pallett ran a nice 16:29.86 over the 5,00-meter course at the U.S.-131 Motorsports Park near Martin. He was second to Plainwell’s Donovan Ryan by slightly less than two and a half seconds.
The Wildcats finished fourth as a team with 89 points and Martin was fifth with 130. Otsego and Saugatuck shared top honors with 40 apiece.
On the girls’ side, Martin sophomore Veyda Conley was seventh in 20:24.54 and the Lady Clippers took fourth and Wayland fifth.
Wildcat boys’ teammates Mason Fein and Alberto Manduhano were 18th and 19, respectively, with times of 18:04.11 and 18:08.74. Ethan Manningchecked in at 18:57.57, taking 22nd. Aquimedes Miguel Garcia was 46th.
Senior Alex Morin led Martin in 17th place at 18:03.12. Sophomore Jadon Dettmann was 31st, freshman Jeremiah VanHouten 33rd, sophomore Gari Salvador-Garcia 38th and sophomore Hunter Hayes 39th.
Freshman Abree VanDenBrink again paced the Lady Wildcats with a time of 21:48.23. She was followed by freshman Ashley Larsen in 29th, Megan Stack in 36th, Sarah Osborn 41st and Help Ryhaenen 46th.
Finishing behind Conley for Martin were freshmen DuRae Sage, 25th and Allison Rodgers 26th, Sara Schipper 27th and Emily King 33rd.
