GR Christian poses 2nd showdown for Wildcats Tuesday

whs-bb-team2Because of the anticipated large crowd for Tuesday night’s O-K Gold Conference showdown with Grand Rapids Christian, Wayland school officials have announced that up to 250 tickets will be sold in advance.

Though tickets also will be available for purchase at the door on game day, the offer is intended to help reduce long wait times at the door, which will get under way at 7 p.m. The girls’ teams will battle of Grand Rapids Christian’s floor.

The Wildcats, now 4-1 overall, just last month had a showdown with Wyoming Godwin Heights and lost by only two points, 69-67. GR Christan, led by Xavier Tillman, is undefeated in four games and the Eagles and Wildcats are regarded as the two teams to beat in the league derby.

Tickets will be available for purchase Monday, Jan. 9, only between 7:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the Wayland Union High School athletic office. Tickets are $5 each.
