Ex-WHS bowling coach’s success story continues

Former Wayland High School girls’ bowling coach Bill Holbrook continues his success story as the University of Tennessee Southern women’s bowling team began their title MSC title defense with a top podium finish in the MSC Baker Shootout.

The two-day format consisted of 20 baker games each day. UTS drew the afternoon squad for both days.

The Firehawks compiled 3,769 pins in the Saturday block averaging 188.45. UTS would be only ten sticks out of the top spot.

UTS got the stones rolling adding 3,897 pins on Sunday to take the victory by 150 sticks. “We did really good both days,” said Holbrook, “we started out slow but as the day went on we caught fire. This was our first time out competing as a team and even though we are still learning from each other, we are pleased with the final results. I am proud of our
