Wildcats fail to make the cut in state bowling finals

The Wayland boys’ varsity bowling team Friday failed to make the cut for eight finalists in the state Division 2 championships at Century Lanes in Waterford.

The Wildcats placed 18th in the competition.

They recorded scores of 159, 136, 156, 160, 177, 156, 133 and 155. In match play they rolled a combined 733 and 804 for a final score of 2,769 in total pins.

Flint Kearsley was the winner in the final round of play.

  • We didn’t bowl as well as we would like to have, but this special group of young men had a ton of fun and you would never have known they were in last place. They kept their composure and continued their high fives throughout the tournament. It was a great experience and although we lose three seniors (Aydin, Chandler, and Stephen), we plan to be back next year. We have four returning Varsity members (Dominik, Jayse, Kyle, and Wil). (We will count on our new guys (Zach, Rylan, Malachi, and Raynie) to continue their development as the future is bright!)
