The Martin varsity basketball team earlier this month held its post-season banquet and several players were honored for a team that struggled at the start of the season under new head coach Corby Calloway, but steady demonstrated improvement, finally earning that precious first victory, at Athens.

Selected as team most valuable players was junior Gavin Meyers, most improved was freshman Blake Sweeting, senior Logan Kent earned the “Work Wins” honor and junior Nick Jager was selected as recipient of the coaches award.

Gavin Meyers and Blake Sweeting also received honorable mention accolades for the Southwest Athletic Conference all-star team in the Central Division.
