Funeral mass is Tuesday for Joyce Nausieda, 89

Joyce Elaine Nausieda (Chrisman), age 89, died Wednesday, April 10.

Joyce Elaine was a woman of strong faith, a spirited woman who was very generous and always helping those with a need. She and her late husband, Bill, were beautiful dancers. They would travel to polka festivals near and far.

Joyce also liked to go the casinos and play board games at home with family and friends. One of her favorite games was Farkle. Joyce’s greatest joy was her family, both immediate and extended.

On Sunday mornings, her table was always overflowing with family and friends who would stop by for a cup of coffee and a dessert. She especially loved her grandkids and great-grandkids. Joyce was an excellent cook and was known for her applesauce and fudge.

She is survived by children Kathy Havens (Scott Havens), Cindy (Mike) Hulsebos, and William A. (Brenda) Nausieda; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Francis Bradshaw; sister-in-law, Cleo Chrisman; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William Nausieda; parents George and Henrietta (Cooke) Chrisman; siblings Hazel Williams, Robert Chrisman, Elsie Leys, Tom Chrisman, Frank Chrisman, Dorabell Reil, Marvin Chrisman, and Lewis Chrisman.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 15, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home (Wayland Chapel), 312 N. Main St.
