Harmony Laker (cover photo) and Trent Sikkema (right, above photo) were named the winners of the Harry Multer and Louis Japinga awards for athletic and acdemic excellence Tuesday night at the annual Wayland High School awards banquet. Winning the senior athlete awards were Izzy Johnson (photo at left) and Lane Button (above photo at left).
Laker was a Wildcat standout in softball, basketball and volleyball. Johnson excelled in basketball and softball. Sikkema competed in wrestling, football and baseball. Button was a state wrestling champion in his weight class.
