Both the Hopkins varsity girls’ and boys’ track and field teams came away from the 50th annual Watervliet Relays Friday as champions.

The Lady Vikings scored 77 team points, Schoolcraft had 70 and Kalamazoo Christian 56. There were 11 teams in all, for both the boys’ and girls’ competitions.

The boys won with 84 points, South Haven had 67 and Schoolcraft 51.

Winning relays were as follows:

Girls Champions: 

  • Long Jump Relay (Ellarie Baugh and Sierra Emaus)
  • 4×200 (Kambria Moored, Maddie Shehorn, Sierra Emaus, Riley Homrich)
  • Shuttle Hurdles (Kambria Moored, Addie Warners, Kaileigh Tilley, Sierra Emaus)
  • 4×800 (Nevaeh Helderop, Navaya Ingle, Grace Schumacher, Jaeden Harshberger)
  • 4×100 (Kambria Moored, Ellarie Baugh, Sierra Emaus, Riley Homrich)
  • 4×400 (Navaya Ingle, Ava VanderVeen, Kara Rodanhisler, Kambria Moored)

Boys Champions: 

  • Long Jump (Trent Baugh and Isaac Koperski)
  • Pole Vault (Landen Klinge and Jacob Helder)
  • Shuttle Hurdles (Isaac Koperski, Jacob Helder, Nathan Onderlinde, Clayton Kerber)
  • 4×400 (Noah Corneille, Jacob Helder, Miles Corneille, Trent Baugh)
