Both the Wayland Girls’ and Wayland boys’ basketball teams came up short Tuesday night in non-league contests.

The girls’ three-game winning streak was snapped in a 60-51 defeat at the hands of Grand Rapids Covenant Christian on their home floor. The boys lost 71-39 to Grand Rapids West Catholic.

Hopkins’ non-conference at Allendale was canceled. The Vikings’ record remains at 0-2.

The Wayland boys now are 1-1 on the season overall and the Lady Wildcats are 3-2.
