The Wayland boys’ varsity basketball team lost 58-42 to O-K Gold Conference champion South Christian Tuesday night. The Lady Wildcats lost 52-34 to the Sailors.
Wayland boys finished league play with a 6-6 record. They defeated East Grand Rapids twice, split with Wyoming, Middleville Thornapple Kellogg, Forest Hills Eastern and Grand Rapids Christian and lost twice to South Christian.
The Wayland lads now own a 12-7 overall record and will finish the regular season Friday against Hastings. They will face an undefeated Otsego squad next Monday at Comstock in the opening round of the Class B district tournament.
The girls now have an overall record of 3-15.
