Brian Huberty, a teacher and coach for Plainwell Community Education, has been hired as head varsity baseball coach at Wayland High School.
Huberty succeeds Rob Hamly, who resigned two months ago after one 8-22 season to take on an assistant coaching role at Calvin College.
Huberty is a graduate of Algoma Christian schools and Cornerstone University. He has served in the Michigan National Guard for eight years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies and physical education at Cornerstone and a master’s degree in education from the same school in 2008.
