Road projects in the City of Wayland are plentiful with milling and paving in the approaching months. City officials are reporting on where road crews have been or soon are likely to be working to warn motorists.
“We want to keep everyone in the loop as several road projects begin throughout downtown,” a spokesperson said. “While this may cause some temporary inconvenience, our local businesses are still open and would love and appreciate your support during this time!
Project Timeline:
• Reno: April 22–24
• West Superior (United Bank → railroad tracks): TBD (lanes open at this time)
• S. Main: May 11–15 (fully closed, no vehicle access)
• E. Superior: May 18–21 (fully closed, no vehicle access)
• N. Main: May 26–29 (fully closed, no vehicle access)
Please note: These timelines include a buffer, and work may be completed sooner if weather cooperates.
Parking Tips:
You can still access downtown by using nearby alleyways and any completed/open roads for parking.
Shop & Support Local:
“Our downtown businesses are navigating this right alongside us, and your continued support means everything. Whether you’re grabbing ice cream, getting your hair cut, or dining out, every visit makes a difference!”
What a joke, drove down Reno drive today. Is that what you call fixing the roads in this city? A couple patches here and there?
Is this the plan for the Main Street of Wayland? What a disgrace! You would think we could do better than that in this small city.
We have no problem spending big money of a street sweeper (which has never been down my city street since buying it) and then now spending money on something to do patch work on the streets. You very seldom see any city working cleaning the storm sewers drains as there are full of debris thought out the city. What makes you think things will get better?
Been to Hopkins and Martin, their streets are so much better. Maybe it is time for a change in the leadership here, not just the city council but the manager and the supervisor of the employees of this city.
Dahlia St what a joke some new tar water still collects in the same place. never finished the sides.
I was told petition packets are available at City Hall. Maybe you should run for city council or mayor!
Weeee I live on Dahlia but not in the city. In the city the Mayor is nobody just rides in the parade. the biggest problem is the city manager. just sits in his office all day and pushing his pencil making sure there is enough money for his salary!!
