Clipper Logo_6_4A Lawrence team sporting a 21-5 season record ended the Martin baseball season Tuesday night, 7-1, in the Class D pre-district tournament at Decatur.

The Clippers, who finished the season with a 5-19 overall record, were limited to just one hit, a double by Tyler Smith.

Coach Jon Gambee said said he actually was pleased with the overall defensive efforts of his ballclub, but remains puzzled about Martin’s hitting slump that plagued the team for the second half of the season.

Junior Garrett Dill went four innings and absorbed the loss on the mound. Only two of the seven runs he yielded were earned.

Caleb Hunderman came on in the fifth and three two scoreless innings.
