The Martin varsity volleyball team captured irst place at the Zion Christian tournament in Byron Center. The Lady Clippers played six games and didn’t lose a single set.
Martin started its championship run by beating Wyoming Godwin Heights 25-18 and 25-10; then won 25-17 & 25-17 Against Bangor; 25-11 & 25-3 over Calhoun Christian; 25-12 & 25-5 over Fennville in bracket play. The Clippers defeated host Zion Christian in the semifinals 25-22 & 25-120 and bested Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart for the championship 25-19 and 25-17.
