The Martin boys’ varsity basketball game played an absolutely horrible game Tuesday night, losing 53-22 to state-ranked Kalamazoo Christian.
The Clippers were down only 11-8 after the first eight minutes, but they failed to score in double figures in any of the four quarters. They really were blasted in the final period, 24-7.
“Our team played absolutely horrific as you can see by the score,” said coach David Curry. “Not taking anything away from K Christian, but we couldn’t have beat a third grade team tonight. We didn’t execute a single thing that was part of our game plan and therefore we got the outcome that we deserved.
Martin shot only 18% from the floor, 27% from behind the arc, 33% from the charity stripe, and committed 18 turnovers.
Only three Martin players scored in the game, Carter Hilton 13, Cayden Curry 6 and Tanner Curry 3. Tanner Curry hauled down 12 rebounds.
