Clippers have outstanding track debut performances

The Martin High School varsity track team had some outstanding individual and relay team performances at its season-opening meet at Holland Black River.

The host school, Martin, Saugatuck and Holland Calvary participated in the four-team meet last Wednesday.

Earning first places or demonstrating solid performances for the Clippers were:

• Tanner Bird, Bryce Robinson, Jackson Robinson and Sam Jager in the 800 relay, 1:41.04.

• James Blackburn, Sam Jager, Gavin Meyers and Teagan Harris, 1600 relay, 3:48.69.

• Taegan Harris, 100-meter dash, 12.18 seconds, the high jump, and 54.75 in 400, with James Blackburn second in  55.60.

• J.R. Hildebrand in 300-meter hurdles, 43.78 seconds.

• Abe Dykstra and Elliot Long 2-3 in shot put.

• Carson Cameruci, Geno Ramos, Jonathan Owen and Elliot Long 2-3-4-5 in discus.

• Drake Buell 11-6 in pole vault.

• Freshman Torryn Harris 14.45 in girls’ 100 and 30.79 in 200; 1:06.68 in 400, with Emily King second.

• Lynsey Jager, Kyia Bozzo, Noa Martin Spinosa and Elizabeth Reinke, 2:04.36 in the 800-meter relay.

• Elly Blackburn, Noa Martin Espinosa, Emily King and Tory Harris in 1600 relay, 4:54.02.

• Lynsey Jager, discus, 87-11.25.

• Elizabeth Reinke, pole vault, 6-06.

• Rylee Sweeting, 13-06, Avery Jager, Noa Martin Espinosa, and Kylee Gonser, 1-2-3-4 in the long jump.
