In just its second home game on a new field, Martin pulled off a made-for-TV 51-0 victory over River Valley. The show put the Clippers at 2-1 on the season.

Carter Hilton kicked off for Martin and River Valley began a short drive at its own 31-yard line. A strong Clipper defense resulted in a turnover, allowing Junior Cayden Curry to score his first touchdown of the night. Shortly after that, Curry was hungry for another. Martin downed the ball at the seven yard line and Curry walked it in once again. Senior Clayton Geerlings added to the effort in the first quarter with a long touchdown run to notch Martin at a 20-point lead.

Touchdowns came easy in the second quarter as well for Martin, while River Valley struggled. Alex Hardy, Carter Hilton, and Hunter Kershaw, all seniors, scored their respective touchdowns to notch a 39 to 0 lead at the half. Opening the second half for Martin, Damian LaFountaine scored a textbook touchdown.

Under a running clock, the Mustang offense tried to pull something together, but the final nail in the coffin came when sophomore Gabe Meyers found the end zone, bringing Martin to a shining 51-0 result. As icing on the cake, Carter Hilton provided the field goal services for Martin, adding three extra points in total.

Martin will travel next week to deal with Lake Michigan Catholic, which totes a 1-2 record. Needing four more wins, the Clippers have a favorable schedule that could place them in the postseason for the first time since 2007.
