Martin ran into a fellow unbeaten eight-man football squad Friday night in Blanchard Montabella and had a pleasant, but long ride home after a 48-6 victory.
The Mustangs, who switched to eight-man football only last month, opened their season with victories over Wyoming Tri-Unity, Bellevue and a school from Flint, by the visiting Clippers proved to be too much in pushing their overall season record to 4-0.
Martin still has yet to lose on the gridiron in its three seasons of eight-man competition. Their only losses have come at the hands of eventual state champions in the post-season playoffs’ semifinal round.
The Clippers used three first quarter touchdowns to take the lead early. Martin is rated an honorable mention in the statewide eight-man rankings.
The Clippers finally will be on their home turf at 7 p.m. Thursday night for a contest against Bloomingdale.
