Martin’s Boys hoops team absorbed their third loss of the season, 74 to 51, Friday against Coloma.

It began as a promising first half and appeared the Clippers had a shot, as they were down 39 to 30 at intermission. But Coloma picked up the pace and ultimately won by a 23-point margin.

Throughout the game, Martin’s defense struggled to contain dynamic Coloma shooter Zach Goodline, a junior, who had deep three-pointers and his speed was unmatched.

Junior Carter Hilton had a decent performance, leading the Clippers with 14 points. Canton Vandenberg, a senior, contributed 11 and sophomore Cayden Curry put up 9 points.

The 1-3 Martin boys have just one more game before the holiday break. The Clippers will battle Delton, in a neighborhood rivalry game Tuesday evening.
