Davenport bows out of NAIA World Series in 2-0 loss

The softball season ended for Davenport University after a 2-0 loss Tuesday to LSU-Alexandria in the World Series in Florida. The Panthers’ final record was 49-10 and they tied for fifth in the National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Two important team members for the past two season have been Wayland High School graduates Mallory Teunissen (top) and Haley Obetts. Teunissen, a sophomore, is one of Davenport’s top two pitchers and she won more than 25 games on the mound this year. Obetts was the starting first or third sacker, and her collegiate career now is over.
