The girls’ and boys’ district basketball tournaments will get under way next Monday and Tuesday, with all three area schools being hosts.
The Hopkins boys’ and Wayland boys’ squads will play at Hopkins Tuesday through Saturday. Both Hopkins and Wayland will be in the girls’ tournament at Wayland Monday through Friday.
Martin girls will be hosts to their tournament Wednesday and Friday, while the Clipper boys will travel to Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian.
Boys’ tourney at Hopkins
Tuesday, March 23 — Hopkins (7-7) vs. Hastings (3-9).
Thursday, March 25 — Wayland (2-10) vs. Plainwell (4-6). Otsego (8-2) vs. either Hopkins or Hastings.
Saturday, March 27 — Finals. Winner goes on to regionals at Vicksburg.
Girls’ tourney at Wayland
Monday, March 22 — Hopkins (6-9) vs. Grand Rapids West Michigan Aviation Academy (9-5).
Wednesday, March 24 — Kentwood Grand River Prep (0-6 vs. South Christian (9-2). Wayland (8-2) vs. either Hopkins or W. Mich. Aviation Academy.
Friday, March 26 — Finals. Winner goes on to regionals at Edwardsburg.
Boys’ tourney at Tri-Unity Christian
Tuesday, March 23 — Wyoming West Michigan Lutheran (3-7) vs. Byron Center Zion Christian (3-9). Kalamazoo Heritage (4-7) vs. Kalamazoo Phoenix (1-7).
Thursday, March 25 — Wyoming Tri-Unity vs. either West Michigan Lutheran or Byron Center Zion. Martin (5-6) vs. either Kalamazoo Heritage or Kalamazoo Phoenix. Winner goes on to regionals at Niles.
Girls’ tourney at Martin
Wednesday, March 24 — Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian (2-9) vs. Martin.
Friday, March 26 — Byron Center Zion Christian (10-1) vs. either Martin or Tri-Unity Christian. Winner goes on to regionals at Mendon.
