Dorr fishing enthusiast gets master angler walleye

Tom Gratz of Dorr caught this 301/2-inch, eight and a half pound walleye out of Houghton Lake earlier this month. A spokesman for Lyman’s on the Lake fishing charter service said, “It’s been a really tough bite for eyes the past few weeks, but Tom Gratz figured it out. He was on the west shore in 10 fow using a tip-up.” A fellow angling enthusiast declared, “That qualifies as a master angler walleye, take a picture next to a tape measure and submit it to the DNR.” (Photo courtesy of John Chachulski)
