Ex-Wildcat star Krissy Dill returning to coach volleyball

Former Wayland High School volleyball standout Krissy Dill is returning to her alma mater next fall as as its next varsity volleyball coach.

Dill was a Division 2 all-state player for the Wildcats, along with Alison Getty, paying on a team that advanced as far as the state semifinals in the fall of 2013. She then went on to have a record-setting career as an outside hitter for Davenport University, breaking the single-game record for kills in one game.

She has been coaching as a part of Far Out Volleyball Club the past four years.

Dill was instrumental in helping record Wayland’s best-ever season in the school’s history, losing only eventual champion Pontiac Notre Dame Prep. She also was a teammate for two years at Davenport with former Wildcat Molly Lameyer as part of a rich tradition of volleyball for the Wildcats.

Dill will succeed Mike Scott, who guided the Wayland volleyball squad to a district championship in his only season. He succeeded Nicki Cardosa, who resigned after the 2016 season.
