Former Wayland High School pitching ace Mallory Teunissen Wednesday hurled the fifth perfect game in Davenport University history in a 12-0 victory over Mount Vernon University in a southern spring trip ballgame in Florida.

She retired the minimum of 15 batters in the five-inning victory, with not one reaching first base safely. Though she tossed many no-hitters and perfect games in her four years as a Lady Wildcat, this was her first collegiate perfect game.

Teunissen is a junior at Davenport and she has a 5-2 pitching record for the Panthers this year. The team is 9-2 overall thus far.

While at Wayland, she was Division 2 all-state and was voted Miss Softball as a pitcher in 2015 while toiling for coach Cheri Ritz.
