

The Hopkins varsity softball team landed five of its players on the O-K Silver Conference all-star team. The Lady Vikings finished second in the league standings behind state-ranked Calvin Christian and put together a 10-2 record.
Selected to the all-conference first unit were Lyla Reynolds, Hannah Brinks, Ava Vanderkolk , Avery Osborn and Madison Schwartz.
Earning honorable mention accolades were Dahlia Veldhouse, Jessi Spray and Cami Hibma.
Hopkins concluded the season in the district semifinals with a loss to O-K Gold Conference runner-up South Christian and had an overall record of 19-14-2.
It also was announced Thursday that the members of the Hopkins softball team had a collective grade point average of 3.55, good enough for team academic all-state.
