Former Lady Wildcat standout has 200 career hits at Hope

20032553-smallHope College center fielder Autumn Anderson, a 2012 Wayland High School graduate, became the third softball player in the school’s history to reach 200 career hits, but Alma held on to edge Flying Dutch 2-1 Thursday in the second round of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament.

Anderson went 2-for-3 with a double and a single. The senior from Dorr has 200 hits in her career, including 49 this season. Only two Hope players have more: Kylee Brouwer with 228 (2005-08) and Jess Regnerus with 212 (2005-08).

Anderson was a standout softball player for the Lady Wildcats and she was point guard on the district and regional championship basketball team in 2011-12. She earned conference and state recognition.
