Former Wayland High School cross-country and track standout Maggie Whitney captured the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) championship in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.62 to win by just five-tenths of a second. Whitney, a junior at Aquinas College, also ran a leg of the Saints’ victorious 4×800 meter relay team Saturday at the WHAC indoor track league meet Saturday.
