Former Wayland High School and Davenport University softball star Haley Obetts Arndt is assistant coach for the Hopkins varsity softball team. Obetts, a hard-hitting first and third sacker for the Lady Wildcats and the Panthers, is assistant to head coach Amy Bishop Funk, who has strong ties to the Wayland program. Obetts Arndt lives in Dorr and is married to Drew Arndt. Did she have mixed emotions when Wayland and Hopkins met on the diamond Wednesday?
