Wayland High School freshmen Sydney Urben finished 22nd in the state tournament Saturday to mark the end of a successful season for the Lady Wildcats.
Coach Bill Holbrook said she missed making the match play cut by only 35 pins (153-195-144-194-212-173=1071). He added that she was the top scoring freshman (there were only two other freshmen to qualify ) and third amongst sophomores and freshmen. “Although she was disappointed, I was extremely proud of how she competed to the very end,” her coach added. “I am excited for her and all the other girls return to what should be an even stronger team next season.”
