Paul Chester Madalinski, devoted family man, and respected community member, died Saturday, April 6, at the age of 74, in Hopkins.
Born on May 23, 1949, in Allegan, Paul’s life was characterized by his loving nature and deep faith.
Paul served in the National Guard for six years. His professional life was spent as a welder fabricator at Key Gas in Allegan, where he was known for his strong work ethic and meticulous craftsmanship.
A man of many interests, Paul was an avid outdoorsman who cherished the annual tradition of hunting for Morel mushrooms. His enthusiasm for the Detroit Tigers was infectious, and he rarely missed a game, whether it was on the radio, television, or in person. Above all, Paul treasured the time spent with his family.
Paul was a lifetime member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He served his church community as an usher and janitor. Those who knew Paul will remember him as a man whose life was built on the foundation of love and faith.
He was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Frances (Pergande) Madalinski. He is survived by his wife, Susan Madalinski, and his two sons, Cory Madalinski and Joe (Courtney) Madalinski; a grandchild, Elric Paul Madalinski, whom he lovingly called “Bumpa;” his sister, Kathy (Akbar) Bardikalaie, as well as his predeceased sisters Joanne Barnes, and Leona Stough.
Paul’s viewing will be Wednesday, April 10, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Allegan, from 9:30am to 10:45 a.m., with Rosary starting at 10:45 a.m. Funeral mass will begin at 11 a.m. by Father Simon and Mass of Christian Burial will be at Blessed Sacrament Cemetery.
Luncheon will follow the graveside at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
