The Division 2 district basketball tournament opener for Hopkins Wednesday evening was a disappointing one, and it meant the end of one of its better seasons.
The Vikings concluded their campaign with a 15-5 overall record as a result of a 60-58 loss to Hamilton in the semifinals at Allegan. It was disappointing because they defeated Hamilton 65-52 in their season opener last December and the Hawkeyes entered the ballgame sporting just an 8-13 overall record.
Hamilton now will face Hudsonville Unity Christian in the district finals Friday night.
