Bailey Ballard, daughter of Robin and Brian Ballard of Hopkins, has signed her national letter of intent to continue her track and field career at Aquinas College.
Ballard has been a key member of the Lady Vikings track team the past four seasons. She has competed at one Division III State track championships in the discus and is the reigning O-K Silver Conference discus champion.
Bailey, who is a member of the National Honor Society, holds a personal best of 119-5 in the discus. She also has been proficient in the hurdling events.
She said, “I chose Aquinas because I am from a small town and Aquinas had that home feel that I was looking for in a college. It also has a beautiful campus and new indoor track facility.”
Coach Dave Wood commented, “We are excited to add Bailey to our program. She has the ability to develop into an outstanding thrower at the collegiate level.”
Bailey has an older brother, Ryan, and she plans to business administration and sports management at Aquinas.
