Hopkins High School junior Brenden Gossman bowled his first perfect 300 game under unusual circumstances this weekend.

Gossman, who is the Vikings’ boys’ bowling team’s ace in winter months, has been recovering from surgery and went to Spectrum Lane in Wyoming just to watch his recreational league team members compete. He wound up participating, probably against his doctor’s wishes, and threw 12 straight strikes.

Gossman also is a member of the Hopkins High School baseball team.
