Hopkins boys basketball team lost its second O-K Silver Conference encounter of the season at home by a final score of 56-40.
It was the fourth straight loss for the Vikings, who fell to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in league play.
However, the Hopkins girls scored their second straight victory Tuesday, 28-21, at Sparta to pull their record to 2-5. The Lady Vikings lost five straight against non-league oppents, but now are 2-0 in league action.
The Spartans took control of the guys’ ballgame in the first quarter with an 18-9 lead and were up 36-20 at the half. Sparts is 2-0 in the O-K Silver and 5-4 overall.
Hopkins will play next at Kelloggsville on Friday.
