The Hopkins boys’ varsity basketball team captured its third consecutive victory Friday to run its overall season record to 7-4 and its O-K Gold Conference record to 4-1.
The Vikings got the best of NorthPointe Christian 51-46 and now have taken over second place in the league standings.
The Hopkins girls, however, lost 45-38 to the Mustangs to slip to 6-5 overall and 3-2 in league play.
Tyler Zomerlei led the Hopkins boys with 19 points, Colin Weber added 17, Drew Weber: 10 and Nathan Tew came up huge with crucial minutes on the defensive end.
