The Hopkins High School girls’ basketball squad has had a lot of trouble with non-league opponent Hamilton in recent years.
The Lady Vikings again came up short in a 43-40 decision on the Hawkeyes’ floor Tuesday night to open the season. Hopkins is coming off a 9-12 campaign a year ago, during which it lost 44-39 to Hamilton.
Hopkins will return to action on its home floor Friday night against neighborhood rival Wayland.
