The Hopkins girls’ basketball team Friday night absorbed its seven straight defeat this season without a victory by dropped a 57-30 decision at home to Grandville Calvin Christian.

The Vikings were never in in the fray, falling behind 20-5 by the end of the first quarter and 31-14 at intermission. The Squires went on a 16-2 burst in the third period to turn it into a rout.

Chloe DeVries scored seven points for Hopkins and Baylee Roys added six.

Hilary Curry netted 18 points for Calvin Christian and Emily VanVliet had 11.
