The Hopkins girls’ varsity cross-country team placed seventh among 11 teams Thursday in the Delton-Kellogg Invitational at the Gilmore Car Museum.

The Lady Vikings recorded 147 points. Grand Rapids Covenant Christian won with 71 and Paw Paw was second with 77.

Senior Alyssa Beilby was the top Hopkins runner by finishing 17th in 22:47.08 in the five-kilometer race.

Freshman Hannah Fisher was 31st, junior Alexis Zalis 32nd, sophomore Astrid Baandrup 35th and sophomore Mary Wells 51st.

The Hopkins boys did not post a team score and fielded only three runners, Andrew Hazen, Dean Heiden and Jamie Barker.

Senior ace Todd Henley did not race for the third straight time.
