The Hopkins High School girls’ varsity golf program hasn’t been in existence for long, but this fall there has been reason for optimism.
The Vikings earlier this week placed third at at the fifth O-K Silver Jamboree this season and Cayla Szubinski shot a program record-tying individual nine-hole score of 42.
Szubinski also placed first at the M-89 Challenge at the Lynx and she was runner-up at the Saxon Dozen in Hastings Sept. 9.
The Vikings as a team shot a program record 193 and finished third at the second conference jamboree. Cobie Palmbos also fired a program individual record (at that time) of 44, Szubinski and Katie Taylor recorded a 45 and 48, respectively.
