The Hopkins boys’ varsity basketball team will have three road games to open its season next week, while the girls’ squad will be at home for two games Wednesday and Friday.
The boys will be at Wyoming Godwin Heights Wednesday and Sparta Friday, both at 7 p.m., and at Hastings at 1 p.m. Saturday, the latter a non-league contest. The Lady Vikings will take on Godwin at home Wednesday and Sparta Friday.
The audience can include no more than two fans per player, as protocol is being implemented to mitigate the risk of the spread of the Coronavirus.
The Martin boys’ varsity basketball team is scheduled to open its season at home at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, against Lawton. The girls, meanwhile, are slated to play on the Blue Devils’ court.
Both the Clippers girls’ and boys’ teams are scheduled to be on the home court next Friday night at 7 p.m. against Coloma.
The games, all in the Southwest Athletic Conference, are planned in the wake of the announcement this week that contact sports such as basketball and wrestling may resume with the insistence that competitors mask up to reduce risk of the Covid-19 virus.
