Hopkins opens girls’ hoops season doubling foe’s score

Evangelina Helderop

Hopkins beat Potter’s House Friday night 44-22 to open its girls’ varsity basketball season on the road.

The Lady Vikings were led by senior guard Evangelina Helderop with nine points and six steals.  Senior Viking Sam Sebright chipped in with five points and 10 rebounds.

Hopkins is coming off a 12-8 season last winter and it was second in the O-K Silver Conference with an 8-2 record. Coach John Robinson’s squad lost only one senior from last year, but it was point guard Kennedy Helderop, who now is playing at Cornerstone University.
