Hopkins spikers split in duals vs. ‘Cats, Plainwell

The Hopkins varsity volleyball team split in a double dual match Saturday against Plainwell and Wayland.

The Lady Vikings prevailed over Plainwell in straight sets, 25-15, 25-16 and 27-25. However, they lost to Wayland in three out of five, 22-25, 25-14, 25-17, 16-26 and 14-16.

The games were scheduled in the wake of the Saranac Invitational being called off.

Individual statistical leaders for the day for Hopkins were:

  • Assists: Corrie Wisser 56, Lindsey Bulich 18.
  • Kills: Brianna Miller 48, Avery Roxbury 17, Corrie Wisser 16, Mady Weber 7, Lindsey Bulich 5.
  • Blocks: Corrie Wisser 5, Natalie McDonald/Avery Roxbury 4, Lindsey Bulich/Mady Weber/Kate Cleypool 2.
  • Aces: Corrie Wisser 7, Brianna Miller 3, Mady Weber 2, Avery Roxbury/Lindsey Bulich/Maya Kerber 1.
  • Digs: Corrie Wisser 32, Brianna Miller 31, Lindsey Bulich 23, Avery Roxbury 22, Maya Kerber 12, Sierra Smith 8.

The Lady Vikings’ overall record now is 7-4 and they are 3-1 in the O-K Silver Conference.
