Hopkins still has a chance to win O-K Silver crown

The Hopkins High School volleyball team will be host for the O-K Silver Conference volleyball, which is shaping up as a battle among three top teams, the host, Calvin Christian and NorthPointe Christian.

Calvin and NorthPointe both are 5-1 in dual meets going into the tourney and Hopkins is right behind them at 4-2.

The Lady Vikings tuned up for the league meet Thursday by grinding out a five-set non-conference victory over Middleville Thornapple Kellogg. They won the first set 25-21, but dropped the next two by identical 25-20 scores. They rebounded to take the fourth match 25-18 to force the fifth, taking it 15-11.

Ellie Sebright led in digs with 18, Kate Cleypool in led kills with 18 Kylee Sykes had 42 assists, and Lilly Iciek and Lyla Reynolds each had 4 blocks.
