Though MHSAA girls’ basketball district tournament pairings won’t be known until after the regular season is concluded Feb. 24, listings of teams competing have been announced.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association is delaying announcements of pairings until seedings are determined.
It is likely that Wayland (15-3) will be the top seed in the Division 2 districts at Hopkins that will get under way Monday, Feb. 27. Other teams, besides the host Vikings (11-6) are Hamilton (12-6), Holland Christian (13-5) and Allegan (5-12).
The Wildcats earlier this season have bested Hopkins (56-33) and Hamilton (48-36).
The Division 4 district tournament starting Feb. 27 at Decatur will include Martin (14-3). The host Raiders are 5-12 thus far this season, Byron Center Zion Christian is 15-3, Kalamazoo Hackett is 11-7 and Lawrence is 11-6.
The Lady Clippers earlier this season defeated Hackett 39-35.
The girls will play Monday, Feb. 27, Wednesday, March 1 and the finals will be Friday, March 3. The boys’ district tournament will get under way March 6 and continue March 8 and March 10.
