It appears that Hopkins will finish in third place in the final O-K Silver Conference cross-country standings this fall.
The Lady Vikings landed in that place once again Wednesday at the last of the league jamborees this season with 69 team points, behind Belding and Calvin Christian, which both seem to have a lock on the top two slots as well. The Squires finished with 20 points, well ahead of the rest of the field.
Senior Alyssa Beilby paced Hopkins with a 12th-place finish in 21:42.03. Freshman Hannah Fisher was 15th, Alexis Zalis 19th, Astrid Baandrup 20th and freshman Joy Athearn 23rd.
The Viking boys again did not score ecause they didn’t enter at least five runners. They were without the services of ace senior harrier Todd Henley, who has been out of action because of an injury for most of the season.
Sophomore Adam Ball again the top Hopkins runner with a time of 20:10.45, good for 23rd place. His teammates were Andrew Hazen, Dean Heiden and Zachary Wisser.
The Vikings will run in the O-K Silver Conference meet next Tuesday at the Ironwood Golf Course.
