‘King of Deutz tractors’ Dean Johnson has died

Dean Johnson died the evening of Wednesday, May 1.

He was preceded in death by father Lyle Johnson, mother Phyllis Johnson (Lathrop) and youngest brother Mark Johnson. He is survived by sons Kyle and Matt Johnson. Siblings Dale Johnson and Julie Kuklewski and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Steadfast to his convictions, Dean’s presence was felt everywhere he went. Though he was not exempt from the quality of imperfection we all share as humans, he did have a heart of gold and family meant everything to him.

That being said Dean would not want anyone to spend too much time in mourning but rather in celebration. So in honor of “a giant who walked amongst men,” please raise a glass and crank up Willie Nelson’s Pancho and Lefty in memory of the undisputed king of Deutz tractors.

Arrangements are being handled by Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation, Union City, MI.
