The Lady Wildcats defended their home alley by continuing their winning streak against South Christian in a 23-7 verdict Wednesday.

The Airport Lanes bowling alley was packed full of Wayland supporters.

The Lady Wildcats started the night with a 6-4 lead with two Baker games of 129+135=264 vs. the Sailors’ 102+150=252.
In individual matches the Wildcats snatched 17 of the 20 points possible. Scores for the night included top bowler Sydney Urben with 200+221=421
junior Mackenzie Banas with 164+169=333, senior Marissa Bruinsslot with
143+144=287 and senior Jessica Henderson with 120+145=265.
Junior Amber Beggs bowled one game because she is still recovering from her thumb injury. She bowled a 143. Senior foreign exchange student Metztli Cruz saw varsity match play action again with a solid game of 140.
“Though we still aren’t up to our full potential in scores, I am confident it won’t be long before we get there,” said Bruinsslot, co-captain. “I know this team very well and I know that they work extremely hard. They hate losing and I know that they will not give in. These girls are strong and are better bowlers than they think. Soon enough, we will back on track and averaging our norm…

“We will find something that works for us, and until then…”
