Lady Clippers 1st in pool play at volleyball tourney

The Martin varsity volleyball team opened its 2021 season Saturday at the West Michigan Volleyball Officials’ tournament in Grand Rapids. The Lady Clippers took first in pool play and were seeded fifth in the Gold Bracket, where they lost their first match in three sets. They split with Fruitport Calvary, lost in two close sets with Kalamazoo Heritage and lost in straight sets to Wyoming Godwin Heights.
