Lady Clippers 3-0, boys 0-2, Lady Vikings now 2-1

The Martin girls’ basketball team now owns a 3-0 overall season record after a 46-30 victory at Coloma Friday evening. But the boys’ squad is off to a disappointing start with two losses.

Hopkins, after cruising to two victories to start the season, lost 72-45 Friday night to Hamilton, which last winter was a state semifinalist.

The Lady Clippers have played excellent defense in the first three games, holding Galesburg-Augusta to 31 points, Bloomingdale to just 26 and Coloma to 30.

Faith Guritz had a fine all-around game, as she scored nine points, grabbed 10 rebounds, had four assists, five steals and was 7/8 from the free throw line.
Bri Warner had eight points, six rebounds and five steals
and Freddie Elkins counted eight points.

The Clipper boys lost their season opener Tuesday, Dec. 10, to Bloomingdale, 48-40, and they fell Friday to Coloma 77-53.
