Lady Clippers come in 4th at Fennville Invitational

The Martin girls’ cross-country team finished fourth Saturday at the Fennville Cross Country Invitational at Fenn Valley Orchards.

The Lady Clippers checked in with 95 team points, one better than Marcellus. Niles won the meet with 28.

Mercedes Morin placed 11^th individually to pace the Lady Clippers with a time of 23:19.61 over the five-kilometer course. She was followed by Zoie Tuinstra 19^th, Samantha Stone 22^nd, Elly Blackburn 34^th and Chloe Billington 39^th.

Martin was missing its top harrier, sophomore Ellie Young.

The Clipper boys did not have enough runners to score as a team, but Eli Dykstra was eighth in 19:09.23, James Blackburn 11^th in 19:17.36 and freshman Alex Morin 20^th in 20:02.5.
